Everyone is welcome to contribute to the production of IMRU. There are no requirements regarding the sexual orientation of a contributor. Discrimination will not be tolerated. But our “beat” is the LGBT Community and an interest in LGBT issues is expected. The IMRU Collective will provide the training to assist in your transition from radio listener to radio contributor.
Jacob Anderson-Minshall is a transgender journalist who hosted the radio show Gender Blender on Portland's KBOO FM. The former TransNation columnist covers green culture for Examiner.com and co-authors the Blind Eye mysteries with his co-conspirator, Diane.
Miss Barbie-Q Miss Barbie-Q (Professional Drag Queen/Singer/Actor/Host/Producer/Writer/Dancer/Promoter)Voted of One of the Hot 25 for 2011 (Frontiers LA Magazine - Los Angeles, CA), she’s a new contributor to the radio show “IMRU” on KPFK (Los Angeles, CA). She currently writes for print/web publications such as Odyssey Magazine (Los Angeles, CA), LA Slush (Los Angeles, CA) and of course her own blog Miss Barbie-Q’s Hotplate. MissBarbieQsHotplate.Blogspot.com). She also has a partnership as club promoter in addition to hosting & performing at her own monthly club called Shhh.... at Akbar (Silverlake, CA).
Sarah Sweeney is a Southern California native who has always had a passion for public media and its capacity to serve communities. She studied Radio Performance and Production at Pasadena City College. As a student she participated as a Producer, Editor, and On-Air Talent for various live programs on 88.9 Lancer Radio. She is now an undergraduate student at Cal State L.A., majoring in Global Politics, a co-anchor for This Way Out’s weekly news report, Newswrap, and enjoys contributing to IMRU whenever she can.
